When Jesus says His yoke is easy and His burden is light, it is absolutely true. We fight against it, thinking it will restrict us—but it does the opposite. It brings freedom. First, we rest by faith in Jesus Christ. Then, we rest through obedience to Him. Rest from fear is followed by rest from the burden of relying on ourselves.

Bitterness is one of those sins that often goes unnoticed—quietly growing beneath the surface of our hearts while we assume everything is fine. In Episode 27 of In the Light of Truth, Ashton and Chris dive into this sobering but deeply freeing topic: The Danger of Bitterness.

You are wanted.God is not surprised by your story, and He is not ashamed of you. Your past—no matter how painful—does not disqualify you from God’s love, God’s forgiveness, or God’s purpose for your life.

Spiritual disciplines are not empty rituals or a checklist to impress God. They are habits of grace—rhythms that position our hearts to receive what God is already offering. These practices are about being shaped, not just doing tasks. When we feel spiritually dry, distant, or stuck, it’s often because these vital rhythms have been neglected. Not as punishment, but because God designed these practices to draw us near to Him—and without them, we drift.

The book of Leviticus points to Christ—the altar, the sacrifices—all foreshadow Him. And just as the priests kept the physical fire burning, we are instructed to keep the fire of our hearts burning: our devotion, passion, and love for God.

Now we offer up to God all the glorious praise that rises from every church in every generation through Jesus Christ - and all that will yet be manifest through time and eternity. Amen!

Abiding is one of those words we hear often in the Christian walk, yet for many of us it still feels mysterious or complicated. What does it actually mean to abide in Christ? How do we do it? And why does Jesus emphasize it so strongly? In John 15, Jesus uses the imagery of a vine and branches to help us understand this profound truth: “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me…"

I never would have considered myself promiscuous prior to becoming born again but as the Lord began to heal me I realized that most of my deep wounding was rooted in sexual sin. It left a trail of failed marriages, a broken family, and tremendous loss and heartbreak.

This is one of those terms Christians use often, but not everyone understands. Many people believe in God or have a general faith background, but being “born again” is something deeper — it describes an inner transformation the Holy Spirit does in us. Before salvation, many people resist the idea of sin. It feels uncomfortable. It feels exposing.
