Understanding the attributes of God shapes everything about following Him. It deepens our worship, strengthens our faith, and transforms how we love others.

You get no pleasure from the blood of bulls and lambs and goats. When I come to worship you, who asked me to parade through your courts with all my ceremony? All of this struck my heart, and I knew it was true. Yes, I had opened the store for Him and yes it was a pretty gift. But my heart was far from offering this to Him from a place of love.

When we talk about God’s attributes, we aren’t just describing what He does; we’re describing who He is. These are not temporary qualities or moments—these are the very essence of His being. And the more clearly we understand who God is, the more clearly we understand who we are, and how we are called to live in relationship with Him.

We live in a world that teaches us to chase what feels easy — to protect our peace, stay safe, and avoid anything that causes discomfort. But when we look at Scripture, we see that following Jesus was never meant to be comfortable.

Spiritual ignorance doesn’t mean someone is unintelligent. It means they are uninformed or unaware of what God has said. And when we don’t know His Word, we can’t recognize when something contradicts it.

As we step into October, conversations about Halloween begin to surface everywhere — schools, neighborhoods, stores, and social media. For many families, it’s a season of costumes, candy, and fun. True forgiveness means loving someone as though the wound never happened — not pretending it didn’t, but choosing to let God’s grace cover it.

The times we’re living in make it clear: we can’t be half-hearted. We need bold, awake faith that points people to Jesus. Yes, the world feels heavy and uncertain. But that shouldn’t drive us to fear—it should move us to action. So the question is: How will you press in? How will you live awake? Maybe it’s strengthening your personal prayer life. Maybe it’s starting family worship after dinner. Maybe it’s simply choosing to share Jesus with a co-worker or neighbor.

Patience isn’t just waiting—it’s trusting. It’s believing God’s promises even when the outcome is unseen. Trials refine us. Waiting strengthens us. And through patience, we are made complete.
