In a world that celebrates self-promotion, independence, and personal achievement, biblical humility can feel foreign—and even uncomfortable. Yet Scripture makes it clear that humility is not optional for the believer. It is foundational to our walk with Christ.

When Jesus says His yoke is easy and His burden is light, it is absolutely true. We fight against it, thinking it will restrict us—but it does the opposite. It brings freedom. First, we rest by faith in Jesus Christ. Then, we rest through obedience to Him. Rest from fear is followed by rest from the burden of relying on ourselves.

Your past—no matter how painful—does not disqualify you from God’s love, God’s forgiveness, or God’s purpose for your life.

Spiritual disciplines are not empty rituals or a checklist to impress God. They are habits of grace—rhythms that position our hearts to receive what God is already offering. These practices are about being shaped, not just doing tasks. When we feel spiritually dry, distant, or stuck, it’s often because these vital rhythms have been neglected. Not as punishment, but because God designed these practices to draw us near to Him—and without them, we drift.

The book of Leviticus points to Christ—the altar, the sacrifices—all foreshadow Him. And just as the priests kept the physical fire burning, we are instructed to keep the fire of our hearts burning: our devotion, passion, and love for God.

Now we offer up to God all the glorious praise that rises from every church in every generation through Jesus Christ - and all that will yet be manifest through time and eternity. Amen!

Abiding is one of those words we hear often in the Christian walk, yet for many of us it still feels mysterious or complicated. What does it actually mean to abide in Christ? How do we do it? And why does Jesus emphasize it so strongly? In John 15, Jesus uses the imagery of a vine and branches to help us understand this profound truth: “Abide in me, and I in you. Understanding the attributes of God shapes everything about following Him. It deepens our worship, strengthens our faith, and transforms how we love others.

You get no pleasure from the blood of bulls and lambs and goats. When I come to worship you, who asked me to parade through your courts with all my ceremony? All of this struck my heart, and I knew it was true. Yes, I had opened the store for Him and yes it was a pretty gift. But my heart was far from offering this to Him from a place of love.
